My class on Mindfulness met today from 11am to 3pm, so I still had plenty of the morning to get in my dogwalk in with Balt and do a bit of house cleaning. I did not have time for a hot yoga class but we did some yoga during my class which was really nice. The class is about focusing on the present, acknowledging feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, as well as using a few therapeutic techniques. Because of my regular yoga practice, I think I already have a pretty good mindfulness practice but I'm glad to be gathering more tools not just for myself but possibly to use in the classroom.
I went grocery shopping after my class and made a batch of pesto with the basil my friend gave me last night. I built a big fire and enjoyed some weekend time off, talking on the phone with loved ones. It was definitely a great Saturday.
