I have lost about 20 pounds in past 4 years but this past year I have been gaining and losing the same 5 to 10 pounds over and over. Because Jim was on a high protein diet and was in Madison this week with me, I went on a high protein diet with him with the hope of getting at least 5 pounds I gained on my road trip off. I can hardly believe how easy it all came off, in only 5 days, I lost 10 pounds (that's an average of 2 pounds per day). I checked my ketones today (the presence of small amounts of ketones in the body occurs in people on low-carbohydrate diets and are burning fat for energy). I'm on a roll but won't be able to sustain this for too long. I'm going to try to keep it up for 2 weeks and then enjoy my European vacation before school starts. I can't wait to eat a German pretzel and Austrian cake. I'll probably gain the same 10 pounds again by the end of August and start over again in September. It would be nice to actually lose weight. Well, now I know it can be done somewhat easily with lots of meat.
As for my day, Jim and I went for a 5 mile dogwalk. We had an appointment on the East side of town at 11am to get my army ID so I can visit a base either to see Jessi or Jim in the future. We had lunch together at Jimmy Johns (low carb unwich wraps). I worked on the computer for a bit and watched the news.
