Yes, according the NYtimes, it is true. While men have gradually cut back on tasks they dislike, women have continued with doing the housework as well as added paid work. So we spend more time doing things we don't enjoy. Luckily for me I like my job, but I still understand how frustrating it is that I can't cut back on the things I don't enjoy (dishes) to make room in my schedule for the things I do (biking). Funny thing is, earlier this month there was an article on how women have more sex with men who do more work around the house than with those who don't do their share. I suppose if more men did the dishes, more women would be happy and thus equalize the competition for happiness!
Tonight was the first weeknight it quite awhile I had time not only to do the dishes, but to actually make dinner! I didnt' make it to the gym to work out (just too tired), but I did swim a mile during my lunch hour (maybe that's why I am so tired?).
