Only one hour drive north, Pompeii was our only tour for
today and it was fascinating. Melissa and Jen missed it dealing with a
sick girl. So far Melissa has really been the team leader on this trip. I have
tried to be a team leader supporter, but I am quite frankly relieved to be NOT
in charge. I don’t think I could ever organize a trip like this. The
responsibility when things go wrong is too big. The past 24 hours have been
very stressful. I spent my free time in Pompeii just chilling down, chatting
with Geof.
We left Pompeii at 1pm and drove toward Greece, across the whole country, east. We caught a really big ferry, or maybe a really small cruise ship in Bari. The ship is VERY cool (not cold cool, but nice). The rooms are small but not that small and the decks are nice. I am sitting out in a lounge with a few staff members. Joe is catching up on his journal. I am typing up my thoughts hoping to buy some internet later tonight. We are traveling to Delphi and then to Athens.
