Even though it's Saturday and Jessi did not have to be at school until 7:45am, I still woke up at 5am. I let the cats out and went back to bed only to toss and turn until 6am. I got up, showered, made coffee and woke Jessi up at 7am. At 7:30 we left and then I made my way to the TDS headquarters on Junction Road. The technician that figured out my internet failure was due to a broken modem instructed me to make my way there after 7am where I would find a new one for free as long as I took my broken one with. Well, the tech didn't know what he was talking about. The building is shut tight on Saturday and they do not handle any customers in person at this building at all. After walking around the building in the rain, chatting with a few workers, I finally called the 24 hour customer service line to complain. I sometimes think that when a company asks for my name or account, there is an asterisk next to it with a note instructing them not to make me mad. The woman on the other line found someone in the building to come out and deal with me. While it's not supposed to be done, I was given a new modem on a Saturday morning. Everyone just wanted to make sure I was happy-- my business meant that much. I was impressed and I have internet again.
I was supposed to go to a workshop at the UW with Melissa, but between picking up Jessi from swim team practice and taking Monika to her soccer game, it was very hard for me to get much time in between. To complicate the afternoon even more, Jessi flipped out when she realized she had not made a sign for her swim team sister. We had to make a run to Joanne Fabrics and then to Kohl's for a sister gift. It was quite an ordeal but it was the last gift of the season.
In between it all Jessi and I saw the school play together. She was supposed to go with Monika, but didn't realize Monika had a soccer game to go to when she purchased the tickets. I was glad I could go-- it was an interesting production. Funny, but disturbing at times.
The night ended with me running around picking up stuff for a swim team Halloween party for tomorrow, grocery shopping and picking up Monika from a soccer friend, then delivering Jessi's gift. I felt like I've been non-stop all day and can't wait for a day to stay home. Maybe tomorrow!?
