This morning instead of taking Balt and Mac for a walk, we decided to take them for a swim! Mac learned how to swim last weekend, so we were hoping Balt would get a little peer pressure from Mac and learn to go into the water all by himself. He's only gone with either me or Jessi in the past. Sure enough, with a little help, Balt figured it out. He is heavy enough to sink without paddling and lifting his head, so I had to get him to understand that. I had flash backs of pulling the girls around in the water by the back straps of their bathing suits while they kicked the water. I held on to Balt's harness and pulled him about while he dog paddled to assure him he could go at it without sinking, as long as he paddled! I was so excited to see him finally get it and go!
I went into work for a bit today, cleaned a little, pushed some paper around, chatted. I know as August progresses I'll be in more and more, so I'm trying not to get too eager to get back but I have a lot I want to do before the first day of school. I went to the pool for a swim-- the weather was perfect, about 90, but it seemed a lot cooler because of the lower humidity. I went to an evening yoga class and let the family fend for themselves for dinner. I lived on fruit and vegetables all day and even couldn't finish my lunch salad because I added a whole avocado in it. The fruit smoothie snack I made before yoga was to die for yummy. I ate zuccini after yoga for dinner. So far, it's been easy, but temptation will come soon...
My husband no longer wants me to even mention his name in my blog-- annoying. He's busy gearing up for another 2 week army thing and then he'll be off to Minnesota. I'm not sure I will see much of him after Friday, so my lack of mentioning him will be two fold. I thought of calling him, "he-who-must-not-be-named" or HWMNBN just to be funny. He did say it was okay to give him a pseudonym. JT would be simpler but I think I will just refer to him as my husband.
