So in every art class I have ever taught, there are always a couple of kids who finish any given project before everyone else and then there a few who finish after. My policy is never to punish late projects. I don't ever want kinds crapping up a project just to get it done fast for an arbitrary due date I've set. Of course this can enable procrastination, but often it also allows kids who might not have success to achieve it. Everyone lives at their own pace.
Today was another full day. I am thoroughly enjoying my art metals classes. We have begun etching, which is a new project for me. I had a meeting downtown after school about minority teacher recruiting and had to rush back to school to get project out of the ferric chloride. I got to Monika's soccer game in time to watch the last 15 minutes with Balt. Her team got creamed by West in the pouring rain-- thus no pictures of the game. Tomorrow Jessi has an away track meet, but Monika has a home game. I really would like to watch Jessi but she wants to take the bus home with her team mates, so I might just go to yoga.
