With only 5 more working days of school, there's a lot coming together. I asked a couple of boys to help me with re-topping my tables in the metals studio. It's exciting to see it finally come together with the help of the wood shop teacher. I had Erika come in this week to demo glass bead making but I have very few students with extra time to work on them. Melissa decided to have her students make cement sculptures instead of doing mosaics, so it's been kind of fun seeing a new project being made in the studio. Of course between my kids grouting and her kids using cement, we managed to stop up the sink in there. It seems like there is always something that needs work. As I finish up my 10th year I feel as if I have more work than ever that needs to get done-- so many projects. Maybe it never ends!?
Today was the senior picnic. Jessi did not go-- she went to the state track meet in La Crosse to support her team mates at the meet. My classes were all quieter, but still active. After school I ran home to get Balt and brought him back to school so that I could walk him around the school grounds because a few kids were staying after to work. By 5pm I was able to leave and run out to the pool for a few refreshing laps. I went back to school to help set up for the senior party that is tomorrow. I came home utterly exhausted and ready hit the hay early!
