Today was one of those Saturdays without much going on. Balt and I got out on our walk but he wasn't eager to do much exercise. I think I tired him out yesterday. Monika decided to go to a swim meet this morning since so many of her high school friends were swimming. This would have been a big meet for Jessi. Monika wore her Navy Swim & Dive t-shirt to represent Jessi. I know her summer team was missing her this morning.
I was at the pool by noon, chatting with a bunch of teacher friends that all just happened to be spending their warm Saturday noon at the pool as well. It was nice and cool in the water. I met up with Monika late afternoon and we went to a grad party for dinner. It was fun to see kids again but I was most excited to an alumn that had gone to West Point last year. I had lots of questions about his year and found the experiences between the two schools are quite different. While Jessi gets to learn how to sail and fix boats, "new cadettes" (not plebes) do what sounds like a lot of camping (but they don't call it camping). It was fun to compare academies. Marco did admit her uniform was way better. Aparently West Point hasn't changed their uniforms for a hundred years or so.
After a nap, I got up and figured it was finally time to attack those socks. I separated all the white ones and brought the dark socks upstairs. I sorted about 1/4 of them before starting to go crazy. I hate sorting socks. I took Balt for a warm late evening walk-- at 8pm it was still nearly 80. I decided if I was going to get any rest tonight, I needed to get the air conditioner on-- plus more humidity is headed our way.
