At some point early in the morning I woke up with pain shooting up and down my back side. I realized that I was paying for "stepping it up" yesterday with my T25. Balt and I got up early and went for a walk and grocery shopping to beat the snow storm that was supposed to start up around 11am. I got home by 10 am and made french toast for Monika and me then started working on my Christmas cards. I'll be mailing them out early this year-- no letter, just a fancy card. I spent some time this afternoon making Mexican Wedding Cookies, which are not the same as "snow balls" or Russian Tea Cakes. I believe the big difference is in the nuts. I was given a Mexican Sweets Recipe book for Christmas a couple of years ago and I finally tried this recipe. Mexican Wedding Cookies, uses almond flour which I ground using whole almonds with my Magic Bullet until it started to smoke. I'll be taking it back to Costco tomorrow. I use it nearly everyday for breakfast smoothies and I think mine may be ready to burn out.
Erika came home sick early last night and woke up this morning throwing up. She sat with me, watching the rest of the Hobbit. I fell asleep about half way through it last night. Apparently Monika came home early from a birthday party sick as well and was violently ill in the middle of the night but was feeling a bit better by this morning. I warned my husband not to get too close to either of the girls once he got home from his military duty. I made a veggie soup for dinner and spent some time working on my "mom" article, taking it easy. While I had planned to go into school today to work on screens, it just didn't happen. There'll be plenty of time this week.
I've gone out several times to shovel and let Balt play. I know if Jessi were here, she'd be sledding and running around with him. I find it amazing how gleeful he gets when he sees the snow, tossing his nose into it and jumping around like a kid. It was snowing in Annapolis as well. Jessi has finals this week with a big meet vs. Army on Thursday that I wish I could go to but I found out I can watch live on line! I can't wait. Erika still has one more week of classes and then finals the week before Christmas. Of course we have four weeks before finals with a two week vacation in between which seems to work out, but makes for a very rushed January of finishing up one semester and starting another.
