I normally really like where I live except when it rains really hard or a lot of water melts really fast, then we have flooding and it's bad. When it gets really bad, it pours into our basement-- not all over our basement though. It pours into only one vent area that is right on top of our water heater. There is a drain right next to it so it doesn't even really get anything but our water heater all wet. The only real problem with a wet water heater is that the pilot light won't stay on and without a pilot light, we can't have hot water. So aside from not having hot water, it's also kind of a pain getting in and out of the house, but it does keep people away. There were a group of missionaries that decided not to come to the door today. I have a pallet from the treadmill still outside and that has been handy but I am sure it looks bad. I'll be happy to have all the snow finally gone, except that it is supposed to snow tonight! Oh, well.
My media classes are taking selfies as an assignment. I did a demo today. I had my class read an article about selfies in the NYTimes. We actually looked at Benny Winfield Jr.'s photos (instagram selfie fame) and talked about the Dove selfie movement. My hope is to print a bunch of my students selfies and put them on display in the gallery. It should be a lot of fun but fascinating as well. We'll see!
I took the end of the day off today to take Jessi to the dentist. We popped into the DMV to get her licence renewed as well-- not a fun time for her, but it's stuff that needs to get done. We did a bit of shopping afterward and then picked up soup for dinner. She definitely enjoying a very relaxing spring break and I'm glad the weather has been kind of mild considering what it's been.
