I find myself having to plan art projects in all off my classes. I've taught all these classes before so I have ideas but I have to decide what's happening next. In my Illustrator class, I have too many choices and I know our time is limited. In metals, I purchased large cabochons for my students to make settings for. I started working on an example today. In my Community Art classes, I need to add to my students load since they aren't working on what I've given them already. I'm not sure what else to do with them. Photo is the class I have the least planning to do, since the curriculum is pretty set but I make adjustments, decide on changing the order of projects, and add on smaller, fun projects as well (like the animated gif- can't wait). With a new student teacher on board, I'm talking through the decision-making out loud and keeping him informed as I go. It makes the whole process a bit more visible to myself as well... what is usually intuitive and just happens now needs to be a little more thoughtful and that's kind of cool.
My day was pretty ordinary. I'm a couple thousand steps short of 15,000 today. I was going to finish off the goal on the treadmill but decided to make cookies instead. I put most of them in the freezer to send to Jessi with her Easter box and set a few aside for Monika's soccer sister. Balt enjoyed the day at daycare instead of going on any walks today. He is favorite there for good reason. He's a couch potatoe, easy to love and has finally figured out that he can't hump or pee on his friends.
