It was after 1am when I finally went to bed last night. So this morning when 5am rolled around, I got up and started cleaning but by 6am, I started dozing off. I fell asleep on the couch until after 8am. Monika needed to get ready for a camping trip and Erika was up getting ready for a trip out to Colorado with friends. It was really the first day for me with nothing really scheduled but plenty planned. Summer really began today. I had some clean up still from last night’s party to attend to. I returned chairs I had borrowed from school. I made an appointment for a new piercing and went to the pool to read and swim.
I came home and began working on the bathroom. It is Summer project #1. I watched videos on pulling out an old toilet and installing a new one. It should be the easiest part of the project. Tomorrow I have student coming over to help me pull out the bowl and the vanity and then go with me to Menard to pick up new stuff. I will paint before putting new stuff in. I decided to keep the tile as there are no signs of damage and I certainly don't need the extra expense or work.
Erika and I sat down for an early dinner together and had a wonderful woman to woman conversation, just the two of us. We talk a lot about the future. I am so lucky to have her around this next year and she seems to be happy to stay around.
I took Balt out for an evening walk by the lake so he could get a swim in to cool off. With a high of 87, he was one hot dog. As I type this evening, it is still in the 80's but we are in for strong storms rolling in-- which should make for some fun for Monika on her camping trip.
