Balt and I got up early and went to the dog park after a quick stop at Starbucks. I earned a free drink, so I added an extra shot of espresso and a few pumps of sugar-free mocha. By the end of my walk, I was buzzing. I dropped off Balt and made my way to Menards. I had to decide between a 36 inch vanity or a 48 inch, and I needed to decide between a dark wood colored or just plan white. I decided on the smaller vanity in white with a granite counter until I realized the counter was 150 pounds. Doing home improvement projects all by myself means needing to make a few practical sacrifices. I dumped the granite for a sandstone, which was much lighter. It was also the reason I went with the smaller size, I had to lug it up the stairs.
The project took the whole day; I opted out of going to the pool or out for yoga in order to get the majority of the work done today. I still need to add nobs to the doors and drawers in order to keep the white cabinettes cleaner and I've sent a series of bath, pool and beach photos of the girls to be printed for the side wall above the toilet (see below). I have spa tub paid for but I want to remove the old tub before I go pick it up. Monika wants me to wait until she's gone before my doing the tub just in case I mess things up, but I'm eager to get it done. I've asked several different people to assist me but no one seems available. Tomorrow I take the day off to have some fun and do some youtube research on installing tubs. Depending on what I find out, I may or may not need a plumber.
I finished the day running out to pick up my vegetables. I made a tomato zucinni saute with lots of onion and garlic. I served it with wild rice. Monika and I enjoyed a very nice sit down dinner together. I took Balt for his evening walk which he seems to thoroughly enjoy. I came home and decided to turn on the air conditioner for the evening. It's still 80 degrees outside and it's after 8pm. We were supposed to get thunderstorms but it looks like they have vanished, so the heat is here for while longer.
