We are more than half way through the second half of the second school year. I had to go downtown today to drop off some artwork for a contest I had my illustrators enter and I passed Lake Monona. It was so beautiful. I wish I had more time, but I did enjoy some time in the sunshine today. It is days like today that make living in Madison nice. I counted the months that I like living here-- 7. I was glad it was more than half of the year.
I woke up early again to take Balt for a good, long walk-- about 2 1/2 miles. The school day was very quiet. I took Balt to get a flu shot after school today. Initially his daycare required it due to a flu epidemic running rampant in the Midwest. There is only one case in Madison of H3N2 thus far. It ended up that the flu shot won't protect our dogs from this outbreak, so the daycare rescinded it's requirement but I went ahead and got Balt the shot. Why not? I get a flu shot every year and the only year I did not get one, was the one year I got really sick. I figured it would only help protect him. They are advising folks to isolate their dogs but I know how much he loves daycare and I need to stay late after school tomorrow. He's a pretty healthy boy, so I'm not too concerned. I made some of my paleo power balls yesterday and I came home today to find that he had eaten the whole bag of them. If anything is going to kill him, it won't be the flu, it will be chocolate.
