I pulled out a box of purple rubber doggie boots I had purchased late last winter to finally try on this morning. He let me put them on without much fuss and before he could complain, I opened the door and let him out. He pranced about wondering if he liked them but was finally distracted enough with just being outside. As we began to walk, I got a sense he realized that he could enjoy the cold without pain on his feet. We ended up walking extra this morning because he had missed so many days from the cold. I thought for sure his nails would rip through but we made it home through the ice and salt without a tear. I've got a box of 24, so these will last a while.
My day was pretty nice. I had hot chocolate for my classes and played Christmas music in class. At lunch I came home hoping to connect with the girls but they had gone out to brunch and were out with friends. I made my own lunch and cleaned up. After school I came home and made dinner for Jessi and her friend, Lauren and then made cookies for desert. Jessi and I then went to the Girls basketball game. I did not realize that it was a alumni night, but Jessi knew. There were lots of girls from years past to celebrate playing basketball. It was really fun to see so many faces from the past!
