Nothing seems to motivate me to clean than when I have other work that needs to be done. I spent the morning cleaning out the bathroom cabinets instead of doing any artwork. Maybe it's that I know what to do and how long it will last, whereas the artwork is quite open ended with no way of knowing when it will be finished. It rained all morning, so I did not get much of a dogwalk in but did go to a great yoga class. After yoga, I ate lunch and did a bit of putzing around but I finally managed to get some ideas started.
The hardest part was trying to figure out what to paint, so I managed to come up with an idea. I may start painting tomorrow (see below). I actually already started this painting about 10 years before but got frustrated and never finished it. Let's see if this one ever gets done. I have always been an admirer of Albrecht Durer, especially this painting. He was 28, I'll be 53. I was thinking it was time for another self portrait and the last time I did an oil painting of myself was 30 years ago. Anyway, I like the addition of the phone. After deciding on the photo, I did some computer work and started a series on Netflix to keep me entertained.
