Jim and I got up early and enjoyed coffee on Jessi's porch. It was 60 and sunny. So this is why people retire in Florida. It was quite enjoyable. We needed to leave by 10am to get on base early so that Jessi could get a rack for her formal uniform. Linda met us on base but then had to leave, so she didn't stay for the ceremony. There were about 20 who earned their wings with Jessi, some from the Naval Academy, most from officer candidate school. Each pilot got to bring his/her family on stage and pick someone to pin on the wings while an admiral watched. Jessi picked Jim to do the pinning which was very special. Cody joined us on stage as her fiance and official photos were taken by the Navy. Hopefully I get some copies of those. After the ceremony there was a very nice late luncheon with toasts. We all came back to Jessi's place full and ready for some relaxation. There is a big party tonight with lots of drinking that Jim and I will pass on.
