It was a very exciting week in Madison. On Tuesday Monika got a couple of tickets to see Jesus Christ Superstar. She is occasionally offered tickets at the very last minute for shows. Tuesday was the second time I was able to see a show downtown and I admit loving the perks Monika enjoys. On Wednesday and Thursday school was cancelled due to weather. Friday had been a teacher only day with professional development for art teachers downtown at Madison Modern Museum. I was able to walk over to the Overture to see Monika at work, taking photos at a luncheon with the actors of the JC Superstar show. I eagerly asked to get a photo in as well.
Although I had never seen the Broadway musical or movie, I ended up having a very surreal experience watching the show. I got a flood of memories listening to my parent's album in my living room in Santa Fe Springs (LA) singing and playing out the musical. I realized I was not only familiar with the music but I actually knew it deeply. I have been humming along to Everything's Alright it all week. It's been a good one.
