On Tuesday I got the official word that I could go back to life like nothing happened. I am totally healed from my surgery and the smile on my surgeon's face was pretty big. He was beyond pleased with his handiwork. I had jumped in water while in Orlando to cool off but this week I was back to laps in the pool and it was amazing. I feel great! I asked about keeping my uterus in a jar and if anyone ever gets to do that and I was told no BUT they do thoroughly test it and all the fibroids, polyps, lining, etc came out clear. My tubes and cervix are gone but my ovaries are still in there doing who knows what. That's the deal, no one knows if they do anything for me after menopause, but just incase, I decided to hang on to them.
I also had my first school meeting this week. A department chair meeting on Wednesday to start thinking about the reality of back to school. There was a football game on Friday that I did not go to but I sent out emails to my yearbook kids to take photos. I'm hoping at least a few of them made it. I can see the kids gathering at school for sport practices and I know my time by the pool is limited but I'm trying to make sure I get there for a bit everyday.
Other projects> I helped Erika paint her bedroom and hang shelves. I helped Melissa clean out a building she rents out and got time to chat while getting paid. I painted the front window and patio edging outside with exterior paint. It was the first time I have ever purchased exterior paint. I plan to take it to the MN house to do the trim outside there as well. I hosted a small baby shower for Grace. I practiced throwing on the wheel for ceramics. I lost 3 pounds from swimming and working out with Tony Horton. I cleaned out all of Jessi's cat stuff from my bedroom and set my yoga mat out again. Monika left this weekend to take Jessi's cats back to Virginia since she's back home. I am back to copying our DVD collection (currently on all the Little House series) and hoping to finish before the end of the year. I also finished a 2012 blog book as I continue to get this blog printed out (just in case it disappears someday). Only 10 more years to go!
