I did a 2nd week at West without issues. I'm enjoying the students and they seem to be offering me a lot of grace and understanding in part because they love their teacher (not necessarily me) and because most are just super nice kids. The teacher I am subbing for is recovering splendidly and I suspect will be back sooner than later which is nice for me. As much as I have enjoyed the job, I miss being home and I have missed having all the time in the world to work out and putz around.
When I moved to Minnesota, I knew I wanted to keep my Wisconsin drivers license in order to be able to vote in Wisconsin. It seemed kind of crazy but I knew my vote in WI would be more valuable. Minnesota is not a swing state, it is wonderfully progressively blue. I loved that Madison was a progressive city but the state is very purple with the northern regions quite red. Madison and Milwaukee have vote hard to win against the rest of the state! The nice thing about that is that there are lots of political rallies in Madison. Monika made it to several. I could not take the time off to stand in line for hours but here's a photo from Monika's view at the Dane County Coliseum. It was a packed house of 10K!
